Our ultra small UHF RFID tags add electronic identification where label space is limited, with formats as compact as 15 mm in diameter. They use EPC Class 1 Gen 2 (ISO/IEC 18000-63, formerly ISO/IEC 18000-6C), with NXP UCODE 8, UCODE 9 or UCODE 9xe chips depending on the product configuration. Reading distance and printable surfaces vary by design.

How Do I Choose Ultra Small UHF RFID Tags for Small Items?
If you're tagging a small item, measure the space you can use and decide whether you also need a visible ID.
For a Small Round Space: J41 is 15 mm in diameter and has a reference read range of 1 m, depending on your reader and environment.
For Printed or Handwritten IDs: H2515 gives you a printable, markable 25 × 15 mm label, with a reference read range of 3 m depending on your reader and environment.
When You Don't Need a Printable Face: M30 is another compact adhesive wet inlay, with a reference read range of 3 m depending on your reader and environment. Neither M30 nor J41 has a printable or markable face.
If you'd like to check the fit and reading distance on your own small items, feel free to request a free UHF sample pack. Tell us what you're tagging and how far away you'll scan it, and we can help you narrow down the options.
Is J41 the Smallest UHF RFID Tag in This Collection?
Yes, J41 is the smallest format in this collection, at 15 mm in diameter. If space is your main concern, it's a useful starting point. Its reference read range is 1 m, depending on your reader and environment, so we'd also check whether that suits your scanning task.
Does the Size of a UHF RFID Tag Affect Its Read Range?
Yes, the size of a UHF tag's antenna can affect its reading distance. In this collection, J41 has a 1 m reference range, while H2515 and M30 list 3 m, depending on your reader and environment. We'd choose a tag that fits your item and reads reliably at the distance you actually need.
Can I Print or Write on Small UHF RFID Tags?
Yes, you can print or write on our H2515 labels. J41 and M30 don't have a printable or markable face, so H2515 is the option we'd look at if you need a visible serial number or handwritten note alongside the RFID identification.
Does a Wet Inlay Mean the RFID Tag Is Waterproof?
No, wet inlay means the tag has an adhesive layer, not that it's waterproof. If your tracking environment will get wet, tell us about that exposure and the available label space, and we'll help you choose tag options that suit your tracking needs.
Can My Phone's Built-In NFC Read Mini UHF RFID Tags?
No, your phone's built-in NFC can't read these UHF RFID tags. You'll need a compatible UHF reader, or an external UHF accessory that works with your phone and software. If you share the equipment you already use, we can help you check the match.
Are Smaller RFID Tags Always Cheaper?
No, a smaller RFID tag isn't automatically cheaper. The chip, construction, quantity and any printing or encoding requirements all matter. Let us know the size you need and how you'll use the tag so we can help you compare suitable options.
