No, not every RFID tag is waterproof. We offer waterproof constructions in this collection, but a paper label or adhesive wet inlay shouldn't be treated as water-resistant just because it contains an RFID chip. Tell us how the item gets wet so we can help you check the right requirements.

No, a waterproof tag doesn't guarantee that you'll be able to read it underwater. Protecting the chip from water and getting a UHF signal through water are different challenges. If your tag will be submerged or placed next to liquid, we'd want to check that exact setup with you.

Yes, you can use a waterproof sticker with an on-metal design, such as our PF6025 or PF7030. For a metal asset, we'd start with those options. Waterproof PET construction on its own doesn't make a label suitable for direct metal mounting.

Yes, outdoor use needs a few checks beyond waterproofing.

Regular waterproof UHF tags may not withstand:

No, waterproofing alone doesn't make a tag suitable for laundry. Hot washing, detergent, repeated cycles and attachment to fabric all need to be checked. We haven't qualified this collection as a laundry-tag range, so please share your washing process before choosing a tag for that job.
